The size of mulch fibers is a choice that tends to be mostly personal preference or for aesthetics. However, at Sylva we chose to make our Color Enhanced Mulches with a fine grind, not only because of the neat, crisp look that it provides, but a fine grind provides the following features and benefits:

•	Fine particles hold the colorant better, thus providing additional resistance to premature fading
•	A fine grind spreads easier and more uniformly
•	Allows for a dependable supply to our customers*
•	Works well with pneumatic application equipment
•	Existing landscapes can be top dressed easier and with less material
•	More particle surface area per cubic yard, therefore more colorant is used in the manufacturing process.

*Sylva has not left its customers with empty bins for weeks as compared to suppliers of coarser ground material. This is due to Sylva’s vast network of supply as compared to the competition’s single source.
